All They DU is Win

Playing sports in high school is one thing, but signing for a college is on its own level. Two Glendale students recently signed for Drury University. Spencer Weller, senior, signed for tennis at Drury after playing three years of tennis for Glendale, now moving towards his fourth.

“I never considered any other schools,” Weller said. “Drury was the right fit for me, and they have a great business program.”

With so much time invested in the program at Glendale, leaving it all behind might be tougher for some than others.

“It’s been a great four years; I wish I could relive it,” Weller said.

With tennis season approaching and the team getting geared up to win, Weller has winning aspirations.

“My personal goal for the season is to place at state, and of course I want my team to come with me as well,” he said.

Emma Bunselmeyer, senior, has been playing soccer for Glendale since her freshman year, and after all this time, the hard work has payed off. She signed with Drury for soccer and will be playing through college as a Panther.

“I chose Drury because I liked the coach a lot, and it’s a good school,” Bunselmeyer said. “They offer some majors that I’m interested in, and I already knew some people on the team.”

Bunselmeyer stays true to her strong will to improve.

“My main goal is to just continue to get better, and by the time I’m done playing I want to be able to say I did everything I could to help my team,” Bunselmeyer said.

Glendale has prepared her for a bright future at Drury.

“It’s made me become a stronger leader and be more vocal on the field,” Bunselmeyer said.Emma1Spencer2
